About Zermatt Tour
Zermatt Tour is an independent guide to the best tours and experiences in Zermatt and the Matterhorn region. We compare every option — mountain railways, cable cars, glacier hikes, paragliding, guided village walks and day trips from Zurich, Geneva and Lausanne — so you can book the right one without the research. Ready to go? See all our Zermatt tours on the homepage.
Why we built this site
Planning a trip to Zermatt means piecing together cable-car tickets, railway timetables, weather windows and a dozen near-identical listings across multiple booking platforms. We do that work for you — putting the real details in one place: price, rating, duration, exactly what's included, and which viewpoints each tour reaches.
We also explain what to expect from each experience, because the right choice depends on your schedule, budget and how high you want to go. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car and the Gornergrat railway are very different days out, and we'll tell you straight which suits you.
How we choose the tours
We don't list everything. We feature operators and mountain railways that meet a consistent baseline:
- Licensed Swiss operators and official mountain railways (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, Gornergrat Bahn)
- Certified guides and qualified tandem pilots with a verified track record of strong reviews
- Clear, honest inclusions — tickets, transport and equipment spelled out
- Free cancellation policies so you can wait for clear skies over the Matterhorn
How we make money
This site is free to use. When you book through a link here, we may earn a small commission from the booking platform — at no extra cost to you. It never changes what you pay, and it never determines the order or rating of a tour.
Our comparisons reflect verified reviews, real value and what's genuinely best for different types of travelers — not commission rates.
About the author
Lukas Brunner is a Zermatt-based mountain guide and alpine travel writer who has led Matterhorn-region tours, Gornergrat hikes and glacier excursions for more than fifteen years. He grew up in the Valais, knows which trains connect where, and has stood on the Glacier Paradise platform in every season — so the advice on this site comes from the valley, not a booking desk.
